Chamberstick Workshop
with Katie James of Good Connection
It's deep winter. You awake Saturday morning to the chirping of birds outside your castle window. You don your robe and swish your way to the parlor, where a pastry and steaming cup of coffee await. With the sharp strike of a match, you light the candle in your chamberstick, bathing the room in a soft, comforting glow
We can’t help you move into a castle (though @metcloisters might!), and we can't pretend you wake up to anything other than the clanking of your radiator on a winter morning
…but we CAN help you with that chamberstick! 🔥🕯️
Join Brooklyn-based ceramic artist, Katie James of @goodconnections on Feb. 2nd for a special hand-building workshop. Under Katie’s guidance, you’ll design and build a chamberstick for a taper candle with unexpected tools and collected textural objects.
Participants can look forward to enjoying an afternoon understanding simple design practices with gestural movements that will continue to illuminate their home + practice into the future. No previous ceramics experience is necessary – all skill levels are welcome!
